The primary geometric order is of square rooms, adjusted to site boundaries as found. Overscale apertures counteract blind party walls. Materials are selected for efficiency and to be as large and light as possible for transport by hand across steep ground. Clay block, timber and glass, lightweight superstructure on a retaining insulated concrete base. Economics as structure as space as politic as ornament.
