ben mullen architects is an architectural practice based in Wicklow, Ireland.
Operating within the traditional boundaries of architecture, the practice seeks to address environmental concerns as the primary spatial, ethical, and aesthetic problems of our time.
Projects are developed from first principles with sensitivity to site, new material cultures and to the histories of construction. The practice has developed specialisation working in heritage contexts and with protected structures and maintains a critical position in contemporary architectural discourse.

Degree in fine art from the the National College of Art & Design and a bachelor of architecture from SAUL, School of Architecture University of Limerick.
In 2025 he was the recipient of the RIAI Emerging Architect Award and in 2023 was awarded the inaugural RIAI CCI Eileen Gray E-1027 Research Fellowship with residency at CCI in Paris.
Since 2016 he is Design Fellow at the School of Architecture, Planning & Environmental Policy in UCD and has been an invited design critic to the Office of Public Works, the Architectural Association of Ireland and to multiple schools of architecture across Ireland and the UK.
